Wii Zapper breathes new life into system

So it’s no secret that the Wii has been weak on top titles since it’s release. Always seems like everything worth getting excited about is also something we are expected to wait for. Don’t get me wrong some promising titles have come out, but the reviews always end up with a 6/10 or 7/10, which is tough to justify for $50. So with Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii coming out at the end of October, and the Wii Zapper coming out sometime after that probably, the Wii might get a much needed priming before Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are released in November and December. But these games with hardware add-ons are a bit risky for developers and even more so for consumers who are having to shell out the extra cash for the hardware that normally only works on the game it comes with. With the Wii Zapper slated to work with several titles, I would say it looks promising indeed. And who doesn’t want to shoot their television with a large gun?
Kotaku has posted the complete Nintendo press release on the Wii Zapper.
Microsoft Surface:bringing multi touch to life
I’ve been a huge fan of this technology for the last few years. Here is a demo of this technology pre-Microsoft. I can’t believe Microsoft is the one finally bringing this to the market. The world is definitely a more fun place when Apple isn’t the only innovator of technology. Here’s another video of Jeff Han demoing this technology at TED last year. And finally here is a hands on demo of the Microsoft Surface product. One of my only concerns with this technology is germs. Is there a windshield wiper with anti-bacterial soap that pops out and cleans the surface once a new person logs in?
My first helicopter…

don’t have it yet, but I’ll be waiting for this model that was just announced at CES.
“Interactive Toys is launching the fourth revision of their Blade Runner indoor R/C helicopter — cleverly dubbed the Blade Runner 4 — newly enhanced with software upgrades, an increased range of over 10 meters (that’s about 33 feet for the metrically challenged) and most importantly, two new tail mounted rotors for better precision. It’s also more durable, to better handle the inevitable crashes when you get your hands on it this summer for $100.”
Logitech Orbit Cam rivals the absurd fun of Apple’s Photo Booth
This is so great. Worth buying a PC just to use it, since Logitech always forgets about the Mac crowd. So much fun to be had though. Thanks to Robbie for the find.
