Ha ha. I really blew that one today. Apparently Jesus hasn’t heard of black Friday.

Yeah, at least Nathan was buying stuff to live on. We actually went and spent money on completely indulgent stuff like video game systems, although they were for gifts, so maybe we get some cred for that…
I tend to want to embrace more of a “don’t buy so much” lifestyle as a buy nothing day.

Nathan you are fine with bringing home the bacon. I don’t see you trapped in rampant consumerism by buying breakfast for your family.
I’m pretty sure Jesus has heard of Black Friday, that’s why he had to invent Buy Nothing Day.
Buying less is good always, but to counter Black Friday with buying nothing is not that hard, it’s just one day, and the self-righteous feeling can’t be beat. Although if the EB Games I somehow wandered into yesterday had a Wii, I would have caved like a Satanist.

We bought a few things yesterday but just like Jason we bought or would have bought things that would have normally bought.
I think that’s the huge problem with black friday, people go and buy things because they are cheap or on sale, no matter if they wanted or needed it a few weeks ago. Then the stores get huge profits because the sales items are limited meaning people will buy the next thing up from it, still no matter if they need it or not.
I say next year, no shopping until 10am or so. That way the stores aren’t too crowded and you wont care to much about that flat panel TV you missed out on.

Oh yeah, I’m not too found of these stupid Jesus ads either. They might be funny for us but for a non-Christian I wonder.

They have some stupid Apple knock off ones that are probably more to your liking Dan. http://adbusters.org/metas/eco/bnd/downloads.php We know how you and Jesus have been at odds lately.

Or perhaps the one with Christina Aguileria topless would suit you.

I like the second or the third. The “apple” ones aren’t too Apple’y

They’re probably afraid of the wrath of Steve if they got too close. Jesus is probably more forgiving.
As a side note, I was amused to realize after building my Wii person (whatever it’s called) that it ended up looking a lot like Steve Jobs.
