megatron

yes! These have been taken down all over the net. Renders of Megatron for the Transformers Movie. Bad ass indeed.

Bring on the comments

  1. It feels kind of weird to sound like an old guy when referring to the Transformers, but I think I liked the original better.

I think I’m still on the fence about this movie. Of course, I’m hoping it will be awesome, but in a way I’m not expecting it to be since I think it would be a hard feat to accomplish. At least that way I’ll hope to be either pleasantly surprised or not too disappointed.

  2. I will say the trailer looks really good though, for what little it shows.

  3. I wonder if I was too young to remember the details or what but I really don’t remember mroe then the truck and the jet guy.

  4. At least it’s not a Gobots movie.

  5. What happened to the simple blocky lines? When did Transformers go all Giger and organic?

  6. Gobots would suck. Transformers got all Giger when effects houses saw the estimated budget and needed to burn through a few million dollars worth of rendering time. Have no idea what to expect from this film. A huge feat that I doubt can be pulled off by Michael Bay or anyone for that matter…although Tim Burton doing the Transformers movie in stop-motion animation would have ruled!

  7. I totally forget the difference between the two.

As for stop motion. That would be LAME. CG is way better and bay should make some awesome action scenes. Stop motion transformers with clay? With clay people? They might as well made the whole thing cg and had pixar do it.

  8. No, stop-motion with the original toys (or larger / more detailed replicas) - that would be cool.

As for CG, the thing I’m having a hard time picturing are the non-CG, real life parts intermixing with the CG. For some reason I can’t picture that not looking awkward.

In a way, I guess I think the best medium is CG-only, but maybe that’s just because that’s the only way I can picture it.

The “Beast Wars” cartoon that was out not too long ago looked really good, from what I remember seeing of it, so I’d almost rather have the whole movie done that way, but then I guess the “mass market” might not go see it if it’s “just” a cartoon.

  10. Hate to say it, but I have to give a “thumbs down” to all the images I’ve seen of the actual robots so far (just those two right now and the original one in this article).

I get the feeling that they want all the little pieces so they can have cooler transforming effects and show movement better in CG with more gears, joints, etc., but it just doesn’t seem right somehow.

Having said that, I don’t know if they really could go for the “blockier” classic looks and still have it look “good”.

We’ll see. No matter how skeptical I get before hand, I’m still going to see the movie, and I suspect that’s one reason why the movie makers couldn’t care less about offending the nostalgic old fans. They will basically do whatever they need to do to appeal to a more general audience (one that maybe isn’t familiar with the “old school” transformers), because they know that all the nostalgic “old” folks will pretty much go see it even if they don’t like those changes.

  11. Oh my gosh Jason this cracks me up. I never though transformers were cool but i used to watch the show with my brother…… anyway… ;P

  12. phentermine…
